EMG-Controlled Planetary Whisk
The Challenge: Develop an assistive kitchen prototype that translates physiological muscle signals into complex, dual-axis mechanical actuation.
Execution and Insights: Engineered an integrated electrical, firmware, and mechanical system that captures analog EMG signals from the brachioradialis muscle. Custom-built a signal conditioning PCB to filter and map electromyographic inputs to an Arduino microcontroller, driving a high-precision servo. Designed and synthesized a complex planetary gear system and a four-bar Grashof linkage, utilizing CNC-machined aluminum linkage bars and precision-laser-cut acrylic gears to output simultaneous rotational and revolutionary motions.
